Realistically, I know we’re only in Autumn. The leaves haven’t even changed (a hazard of living in swampland and evergreen forest country) and I still technically have time to sew that Halloween costume for my niece. Technically.
In reality, it feels like the end of the year is approaching at lightning speed, and I’m suddenly inundated with all the things I need to get ready. Which has resulted in a frantic dash to get the formatting for both Ace of Wands and Biker Blues done so I can find some ARC readers.
Speaking of which: writers… where the heck are any of you finding ARC readers? And don’t tell me Reddit cause that’s been a barren wasteland. I’m sure it’ll be easier for me to find some once I’m a little more established, but for now I’m drowning trying to figure it out. Which isn’t helped by the fact that type setting might actually be the devil. Like, I’m not sure why my old pastors were so worried about drugs and booze, have you seen what formatting does to a person after so many hours? I feel like I’m back in college stressing about the commas in my MLA references. Except worse because I actually care how this looks.
And of course, because nothing can go smoothly, I came back from my vacation to the news the computers are acting up again on such a level we’re all getting fancy new ones… and I won’t be able to work on them. Queue me busting out my old Surface, fiddling with the settings on my Bluetooth keyboard for work, and I’ve got a writing system that, while not as seamless as before, works well enough for me!
When I tell you I am sprinting to getting to the end of the year so I can get to the good part, I can’t explain it. I’m so excited to have all of these stories I’ve spent the last two years writing and polishing and getting ready before I publish them! There’s this giddy, terrifying feeling in my chest every time I think about it.
That’s pretty much it for now. Not a lot got done this week on account of the vacation, but by next week… I’ll have Wolves and Rain edited and have some more updates on that!
