Spooky Season’s Supposed to be fun

But it’s not when I’m the one being haunted!

So I’ve mentioned a few times the last month I’ve been having issued with my laptop at work. Serious issues affecting both my work performance and my ability to write on breaks and between calls. Now, I’m not tech illiterate. Once upon a time I was coding YoutTube and AO3 with terrible jpeg anime mermaid pictures to make them a too-busy background. This was insane though. I made four SEPARATE IT techs cuss at my computer on a recorded line.

Which then resulted in Friday. Instead of being able to put up my blog for the week, I spent every hour on the phone with the same tech from four previous times, listening to him whisper in horror at how my almost-brand-new company laptop ran at the speed of the brick I named Charlotte in college that could only run Word under a full moon when plugged directly into an ethernet cable.

So I came in today thinking more of the same. No loading, lots of lag, typical restart while I wait on hold for IT, but then… a miracle. The laptop… works. Fine. No lag. No nothing. No one in IT did anything. I did nothing. At this point, I’m not unconvinced my laptop is possessed by a particularly finnicky spirit that’s angry I haven’t given them a name yet like all the other electronics in my life.

Her name is now Prudence.

On the upside, since I had no luck in the tech/writing area of my life, I spent what little free time I had not putting my toddler in her first big-girl bed (she is not pleased and we’re all feeling the affects) looking into legalities and design options. From getting the pricing on purchasing the ISBNs for all my upcoming novels and how I want everything to look once it’s published.

I’m drowning in formatting confusion, but I think I’m getting better and better every time I try my hand at it. Now that I won’t be doing it on a time crunch between troubleshooting, I’m hoping the finished products for what I’ve got planned to release will be just as visually appealing as I’d hoped.

You’ll notice, though, a new picture in the gallery! It’s an image of Luca and Violet from Ace of Wands by the lovely chuuupep on Instagram! Yes, Luca is both horrified… and intrigued.

This week is catch up. I’m still working on my editing of Wolves and Rain but I’m hoping I can get some more writing done on Ace of Swords so I can get closer to finishing it as well.

I’ll be posting the next blog on Thursday this week instead of Friday on account of Friday I’ll be back on the road visiting relatives. Happy spooky season everyone!
